Dewalt dwe7491rs Review

Ask anyone, and they’ll tell you that DEWALT is an established and trusted brand in the construction and woodworking industry. They’ve made a name for themselves for making powerful and durable heavy-duty equipment. As one of the leading brands in the industry, their tools are made so that even the professionals would use these.

This particular product is great because of its power and portability. You can pretty much cut about anything and if you need to move to different locations, its rolling stand will make it no problem. It’s also very easy to use that you don’t have to be a pro to get it. The manufacturer couldn’t have made a better table saw. One thing that might set you off is the price, though, so you might want to consider the amount of work you’re doing first.

The Features

The Design

If we’re talking about design, this one is actually well thought out. You might think that it’s a little heavy with a weight of around a 100 pounds, but that doesn’t make it any less portable. The rolling stand feature is actually extremely helpful in moving it around. Its legs fold underneath the table, and you flip the whole thing vertically so it stands on its wheels. This makes it very easy to set up and move around, and one thing you’ll like is that being able to stand on means it doesn’t take up too much space. Also, it’s quite sturdy and doesn’t move around if you push or lean on it as you cut.

The table itself is 26 x 22 inches, but the rack and pinion telescoping fence system is definitely something worth mentioning. This feature lets the fence extend and retract fast and smoothly. Adjustment is all done with a simple knob located just on the side of the table, and you just pull down the lever to lock it into place. It’s quick and uncomplicated, and it’s stable enough to keep your measurements accurate and consistent.

As far as safety is concerned, this one is one of the most secured around. It has all the standard features you’d expect like a blade guard and riving knife. They’re all easy to replace and adjust if needed.

There’s also a nice little cover for the power switch. It might not seem much, but it’s actually a really good idea that helps prevent other people from accidentally turning it on. This model has a black cover on the on button, which can also hold a lock. So if you’re around kids or just don’t want other people touching it, you can keep it secured.

Another neat little feature that we really appreciate is how the tools and safety accessories are stored. They have built-in storage that are integrated into the stand. It’s always a good idea to have all your safety gear in one spot and even better is that when you’re changing locations, you already have them all attached as you go.

Dust Collecting Port

People who have been woodworking for a long time are not unfamiliar with eh issue of dusting. This table saw actually has two dusting-collecting ports. It has a 2 1/2-inch port on the side of the table and a 1 1/2-inch one on the blade guard. You don’t have to spend anymore on a vacuum, and you get the added protection of not having so much dust all over your face.

Things we liked

Definitely one of the things we liked the most is how portable it is. All the parts are easy to fold and assemble. The rolling stand makes it very convenient to move around, and you can efficiently store it in your garage, too.

It also has one of the best performance amongst saws of its kind, and you can thank its fence for that. On top of being sturdy and stable, it’s also precise and accurate. Once you get the item, it’s actually already attached, and you’ll notice that it’s perfectly parallel to the place. There’s definitely something to be said about how well-built this product is.

On top of that, its 15-amp motor makes it quite impressive. There’s no question that you can cut through any hardwood with ease. It can even handle thick and stacked pieces of wood with no problem. Even when the cutting capacity is at its limit, it will still slice through your material easily without slowing down or hesitating.

Things we didn’t like

With all its nice features and power, it does have one setback, which is its miter gauge. In comparison to the rest of the product, it’s overall pretty flimsy and doesn’t stay in place. There’s a lot of wobbling and side-to-side movement, which is kind of a let down. You’d probably do better with just replacing it.

Also, while the blade is relatively good compared to other products, it can still be better. The one that goes with it is okay, and it’s not that big of a flaw actually. Less experienced workers might not be able to tell much of a difference. Though, some of your professionals who want a more efficient blade would probably end up replacing it.

General User Impression

Overall, the DEWALT DWE7491RS is pretty popular. Almost all the users who bought this were satisfied with what they got. There’re very little complaints on this, and some people don’t even have anything bad to say about it.

A few issues people had when they were buying this though is the customer service in DEWALT. It was not a good experience for some people.

We say that if you want to get a great saw for a reasonable amount of money, get this one. It’s not going to be the cheapest one in the market, but the added price brings with it a ton of advantages. For something built for on-site construction work though, it’s a bargain.

The entire built and performance of this DEWALT table saw is one of the best around. We would recommend it to anyone, be it the simple DIYer or the long-time hobbyist. It doesn’t require any complicated manual or years of experience to properly work, and it’s more than a little efficient, too! You’re not going to regret buying this product at all.
